Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a postpartum doula?

While birth doulas support you during the birth of your little one, postpartum doulas are focused on the aftermath of birth and helping care for parents and babies when they get home. Postpartum doulas can perform a variety of household tasks, like light laundry or meal prep, as well as take care of the baby for short periods, answer questions on postpartum care, infant sleep, and more! We're there to make your transition into parenthood goes as smoothly as possible, day or night.

  • What is a virtual sleep consultant?

A virtual sleep consultant works with infants and toddlers up to 4 years of age, creating healthy sleep hygiene and habits from the start. Our team sleep consultant works with families nationwide creating custom sleep plans, and supporting them through their sleep training journey. We offer a variety of techniques and methods to get your baby sleeping on their own! Whether you have a newborn who needs to be nursed to sleep, or a toddler that has never slept in their own bed - we can help you.

  • Does insurance cover this kind of support?

For postpartum doula services - It depends on your insurance! You'll need to contact your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you for postpartum doula services. You can also pay our invoices from your HSA or FSA account!

Sleep consulting is not currently covered by health insurance.

  • Will my partner feel replaced by a doula?

Doulas are in no way meant to take on the same role as your partner. Your partner knows you, your comforts, your emotions, and what you need better than anyone and will be a huge part of your birth, recovery and postpartum period. Doulas come with knowledge about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum that your partner may not have and help them find the best way to apply that knowledge to you. We love to work with partners, giving them tips for comfort measures and empowering them to be a part of the journey.
